Registration for the Summer Rec. Program is closed. There are openings on some of the boys' teams and a very few on the girls' teams. To be put on a wait list or to inquire about specific openings send an email to: minneapolisunited@yahoo.com

Where are the games played?

Games are played at Pearl Park in south Minneapolis.

All players should have their soccer ball clearly marked with their name, a water bottle, shin guards, and outdoor shoes or cleats.

How long is the season?

The season starts June 5 and ends July 29.

Are teams mixed gender and ages?

Boys and girls play on separate teams. Ages are combined U6-U7, U8-U9, and U10-U12.

What day are the games played?

Each team plays two games per week. The daily schedule is:

  • Mon and Wed: U6-U12 girls
  • Tue and Thur: U6-U12 boys

What time are the games played?

The time schedule is:

  • U6-U7: 6:00 PM
  • U8-U9: 7:00 PM with an occasional 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM game
  • U10-U12: 8:00 PM

How many players are on the field?

MU summer rec league play is 6 per side.

How big is the field?

The U8-U12 teams play on fields that are approximately ½ the size of a regulation soccer field. The U6-U7 teams play on ¼ size fields.

Do I get a uniform?

Yes. Each player gets a full uniform (jersey, shorts and socks).
Shin guards and cleats are not provided, but are recommended, especially for the U8-U12 players.

You do not need to select uniform sizes.

*Uniforms are issued at the Kick-Off Camp.

Do you use paid referees?

Yes. U8-U12 games are officiated by paid referees. U6-U7 are led by the coaches.

When is the Kick-Off Camp?

The Kick-Off Camp is Saturday, June 5th at Pearl Park. Please arrive promptly at your starting time so players can meet their coach and team members and receive their uniform. Immediately following will be a free Rec. Clinics led by MU's professional trainers. The schedule for the day is:

    Girls:
    All ages from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

    Boys:
    All ages from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

*Uniforms are issued at the Kick-Off Camp. All players need to bring a soccer ball, filled water bottle, shin guards, and cleats (or tennis shoes). Sunscreen is also recommended.

What about practices?

It is up to the coaches, managers and parents of each team to decide when to have practices. Each team is different.

How much does it cost?

The fee for:

  • U6-U7 is $95
  • U8-U12 is $105

Late registrations are charged an extra $20 and are only accepted if space is available.

What is the registration deadline?

The registration deadline is May 1, 2010. Online registration is highly recommended. Your payment date is your registration date. Acceptance of registration is not a guarantee that the child will get on a team. When age groups fill up names of registered players will be placed on a wait list. If you are not able to register because the age group is full you can send an email to: minneapolisunited@yahoo.com to be placed on the waitlist.
